Thank You, Samantha Burns

The irrepressible Sam points out the 100 Most Often Mispronounced Words and Phrases in English, and being the language geek that I am, I couldn't be happier perusing the list and thinking of folks I know who 'offend' from time to time. Not that it makes you a bad person.

I, however, conceived an unusual (and perhaps excessive) craving for investigating the vagaries of English sometime around my 5th birthday (birthdate?) and eventually looked up most of the given examples and eliminated them from my own speech.

(Hanging around with my Father's side of the family, though, has given me a strong urge to say that the 'PO-lice' are investigating the theft of a 'chesterdror.')

P.S. No matter how many times the people of ESPN talk about somebody's 'athleticism' there ain't no such thing. If they mean the fellow can run faster and jump higher than most of the other competitors, let them say so.

P.P.S. Implying that one is very good with the English language makes one wonder if there are any errors in this post (hehe).
